BYD is preparing to debut the flagship crossover Denza N9

In September of this year, Mercedes-Benz officially withdrew from the founders of the Chinese company Denza, which was established by BYD and (back then) Daimler in 2011. However, BYD does not intend to abandon its subsidiary brand and continues to expand its model lineup. Currently, it includes three model families, and soon a large crossover, the Denza N9, will join them. The model has already been added to the certification database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information ... Read more

Electric crossover BYD Sealion 7

The main highlight of BYD at the Paris Motor Show was the mid-size crossover Sealion 7. It has been on sale in its home market since May, but this was its first showing outside of China. However, its market positioning remains the same: both in China and on the European continent, this "sea lion" is aimed at competing with the Tesla Model Y. The Sealion 7 is based on the BYD Seal sedan, which has already been tested by Autoreview. The crossover's design follows the same signature BYD Ocean ... Read more

Subaru Crosstrek debuted a new hybrid system

Until now, Subaru had only one hybrid system, the e-Boxer, which was merely a 'mild' addition to a conventional powertrain. It consists of a naturally aspirated 2.0 engine and a chain-driven CVT with an integrated auxiliary electric motor producing 14-17 hp. But now the Japanese company has introduced a more advanced hybrid system called S:HEV (Strong Hybrid Electric Vehicle), and the first vehicle to feature it is the Subaru Crosstrek crossover. The S:HEV powertrain includes a modified ... Read more

BMW Concept Skytop debuted at the Elegance competition

Preparing unique show cars for the annual Villa d'Este Elegance Competition has already become a good tradition for BMW. For example, last year, the three-door BMW Concept Touring Coupe was presented at this event. And now the debutant is a larger vehicle—the BMW Concept Skytop with a targa body. According to the official version, the design team, led by Adrian van Hooydonk, drew inspiration from the classic BMW 503 from 1956 and the BMW Z8 from 1998, although direct references to these cars ... 2026 Mercedes CLA

It's been a year since Mercedes showed us the Concept CLA Class as a window into the future of its most affordable sedan. That future is right around the corner since the compact luxury model is almost ready for prime time. No longer a concept car, the cheapest Benz sedan has evolved into a production model with artsy camo to conceal the final design. Mercedes previewed the third-generation CLA last weekend during the 39th Festival d'Hyères held at the Villa Noailles in southeastern France. ... Read more

2025 Nissan Murano

Nissan calls the 2025 Murano a "road-going sanctuary." It's the first Murano to offer optional massaging front seats, though all Muranos get a new digital cockpit with dual 12.3-inch displays. It's the first to get 21-inch wheels, available on Platnum trims. It comes standard with Nissan's Safety Shield 360 driver-assist suite. It's completely restyled front-to-back. And under the skin, there's a new powertrain that ditches the unloved CVT. Considering the outgoing Murano debuted way back in ... Read more

The Ford Evos Concept Inspired An Entire Generation Of Cars

The Evos was designed by Stefan Lamm, Martin Smith, and Eugen Enns as Ford shifted away from its "Kinetic” design language introduced in 2005 with the Iosis concept. The hallmark styling cues were its trapezoidal grille, sleek headlights, and triangular taillights. The new face and rear would proliferate throughout Ford's lineup, ending up on the 2013 Fusion, the 2015 Edge, the 2015 Mustang, and the 2015 Focus refresh. "Designing the face of a brand doesn’t happen overnight," Eugen Enns said ... Read more

Volkswagen ID.Code Concept Has Eyes That Can See You Coming

The Volkswagen ID.Code concept SUV has been developed for China and built to showcase future design and technology for the brand. Volkswagen has a large presence at this year's Auto China show in Beijing. The ID.Code Concept could be the strangest of them all, but not for reasons you might expect. On the outside, it looks like a fairly straightforward SUV. The cabin isn't too radical either, featuring a typical concept layout with four swiveling seats in a minimalist cockpit. It's the ... Toyota Has 'No Plan' To Kill the Supra

You've probably heard rumors about how BMW intends to kill off the Z4 once the current generation of the roadster runs its course. The sporty convertible will supposedly go out of production in 2026 without a successor planned. Where does that leave the mechanically related Supra? The temptation is to think Toyota will also retire the Z4's coupe sibling, but apparently, that's not going to be the case. In an interview with CarExpert, a Toyota official was crystal clear regarding the fate of ... Read more

The Subaru WRX tS Approaches STI Greatness

If you're confused by Subaru's sporty model nomenclature these days, we forgive you. Everybody knows the WRX—while mention of the letters S-T-I brings tears to the eye of any self-respecting Subaru enthusiast—the recent medley of GT, TR, and tS trims haven't yet earned their place in the pantheon of performance acronyms. Last year, the WRX TR appeared. Subaru took the seats and some other premium appointments from the WRX GT but made the TR available with the six-speed transmission ... Read more
