The updated Geely Preface sedan has been unveiled in China
Last summer, the long-awaited Geely Preface sedan finally reached the Russian market. Interestingly, the version released in Russia is an advanced one known in China as the Preface L, which has been available since 2023. This model differs significantly from the standard sedan with its altered exterior and updated interior, and it also offers a hybrid variant in China. Meanwhile, the original 2020 Preface is still available in its domestic market, and it recently underwent a separate facelift.

The updated Preface has retained its original headlights, but (like the Monjaro) has gained a new grille without a concentric pattern and with straight bars instead of concave ones. The bumper and door sills have been redesigned, and the rear now features a quad exhaust instead of the previous two oval pipes. The color options have been expanded with two new shades. Entry-level versions are equipped with 17-inch wheels, while higher trims boast 18-inch wheels. The car measures 4785 mm in length.

The dashboard of the updated sedan follows the design of the Preface L model, featuring a 12.3-inch instrument screen without a visor and a large 14.6-inch “display” for the new Flyme Auto media system. Below it, the physical button panel remains, and a gear shift lever is retained on the center console (whereas in the Preface L, the transmission is controlled by a steering column lever without buttons). Higher trims offer a mix of suede and faux leather upholstery, wireless charging, a heads-up display, 360-degree cameras, an Infinity audio system with ten speakers, and a built-in air freshener. A Level 2 autopilot is also available.

There are no technical changes. As before, the Geely Preface in China is available with 1.5L (181 hp) and 2.0L (190 or 238 hp) turbo engines, with the most powerful variant featuring a classic eight-speed automatic transmission. This version reaches 0-100 km/h in 6.6 seconds and has a top speed of 215 km/h. The other two versions are equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. For comparison, the Russian version of the Preface has a 200-hp 2.0L engine and a robotic gearbox.
