Production of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 has started in the United States
Hyundai Motor has started the production of the Ioniq 5 electric vehicles in the United States. Since 2021, they had been imported from Korea to the US.

The status of being an American-made product allows buyers of electric vehicles to receive a tax credit in the United States.

The Ioniq 5 has received some updates, not so much improving its consumer qualities, but adding to its appeal.

The main acquisition of the Ioniq 5 on American soil is the appearance of the XRT cross-modification with dark gray bumpers and protective overlays on the wheel arches, sills, and lower parts of the side doors. The texture of the bumpers features a pixel pattern, and the red towing hooks (which are decorative) also catch attention. The XRT has high-profile AT tires and an increased ground clearance of 23 mm. The off-road Ioniq 5 is offered only with an all-wheel-drive dual-motor transmission and the largest battery available.

Speaking of batteries, both battery packs available for the Ioniq 5 have increased in capacity. The base battery now has a capacity of 63 kWh (+5 kWh), and the more expensive one has 84 kWh (+7 kWh).

The Ioniq 5s assembled in the US became Hyundai’s first electric vehicles to feature standard Tesla charging ports.

The standard version of the model received a styling update. It has new bumpers, a spoiler on the rear hatch, and redesigned wheels. The interior features a new steering wheel, and a physical button panel has been added to the console for frequently used functions. The range of body colors and options that enhance comfort has also been expanded.
